Angling, Catfish The age-old method of catching Catfish is still-fishing at the bottom of your chosen lake or river. These monsters lurking far below the water's surface have poor eyesight but their barbels are amply equipped with taste buds. This allows cats to find their meals in murky waters and at night. Most anglers use somewhat rank bait. Everything from sun exposed chicken livers, to stink bait and 2 pound carps have been used. The idea is you drop your line and the cats will find you. But don't consider catfishing boring as these babies are guaranteed to put up the fight of a lifetime once you have them hooked.
